As time goes on, the physical stresses of pregnancy, childbirth, aging, and hormonal changes can weaken the pelvic floor muscles, leading to conditions like urinary incontinence and decreased sexual sensation and satisfaction. To help restore the pelvic floor muscles, Dr. Darren Lazare performs non-surgical treatment using the FDA-approved VTone device. By providing gentle electrical muscle stimulation (EMS), these treatments are able to provide pelvic floor rehabilitation through the process of neuromuscular re-education.
What Is VTone?
VTone is a non-surgical and non-invasive device that is used to help rehabilitate the pelvic floor muscles by toning and training. Each VTone treatment uses a single-use electrostimulation device that is placed inside of the vaginal canal, triggering involuntary muscle contractions. As the muscles contract, they work to tone and tighten the muscles of the pelvic floor. This helps restore the muscle fibers that may have been weakened or stretched during pregnancy and childbirth.
VTone Treatment
Each VTone treatment session lasts around 30 minutes, and because of the non-invasive nature of the procedure, no anesthesia or downtime is required. During your procedure, the two-sided tip of the VTone device is inserted into the vaginal canal. This device is only about the size of a tampon. Next, the device is turned on, and the electric muscle stimulation causes the pelvic floor muscles to contract. This increases their strength and tone immensely, with one treatment being the equivalent of doing 20,000 Kegels in only 30 minutes.

Who Is a Candidate for VTone?
The ideal candidate for Vtone treatment is any individual seeking an effective solution to pelvic floor dysfunction, such as urinary incontinence or decreased sexual satisfaction, often resulting from childbirth, aging, or hormonal changes. They may experience symptoms such as urinary leakage or discomfort during intercourse and are seeking a non-invasive, clinically proven approach to improve pelvic floor strength and function. Candidates seek treatments that offer a discreet and convenient approach to addressing intimate health concerns, allowing them to regain confidence and quality of life. Additionally, they may prioritize therapies that provide long-lasting results with minimal discomfort and downtime, enabling them to return to their daily activities quickly while enhancing their overall well-being.
VTone Recovery
There is no required downtown or recovery with VTone treatments. For optimal results, patients will need multiple treatment sessions. This is usually 6-8 treatments over the course of three months, with the final results becoming known 1-2 weeks after the final treatment. If needed, maintenance appointments can be scheduled and performed on a yearly basis.
