SEE ALLWHAT CAN IT TREAT?
Three different areas of the body are commonly addressed during a mommy makeover: the breasts, the abdomen, and the genitals.
A mommy makeover is a series of cosmetic surgical procedures that are designed to address parts of the body that may have changed due to pregnancy, childbirth, and breastfeeding. The procedure gets its name from the many women who seek out these cosmetic improvements after becoming mothers.
What Is a Mommy Makeover?
Procedures performed can include a breast lift, breast augmentation, breast reduction, tummy tuck, liposuction, vaginoplasty, labiaplasty, and clitoral hood reduction. Some benefits of a mommy makeover include:
- Improved quality of life: When we feel good, we feel more confident and happy. It is not selfish or vain for a woman to want to look their best.
- Save time and money: When you have multiple procedures at one time, you save on recovery time, operating room, and anesthesiology fees.
Mommy Makeover Procedure
Each mommy makeover procedure is performed under general anesthesia to ensure your comfort. The combination of procedures you have chosen, with the guidance of Dr. Lazare, will determine the steps of your mommy makeover. Each procedure is done during the same surgery, so you will only need to go under anesthesia once. When each procedure is finished, your incisions will be closed with sutures. A mommy makeover procedure takes around 3-6 hours to complete.
Mommy Makeover Recovery and Results
Immediately following your mommy makeover, you will experience some swelling, bruising, and discomfort. These can all be managed with your prescribed pain medication and cold compresses. You will have gauze over your surgery sites and will be required to wear a compression bra for at least 2 weeks after your procedure and may have drains placed to collect any excess fluid or blood. Recovery can take 2-3 weeks, and you will have to avoid any strenuous activity during this time. The final results of a mommy makeover will be achieved a few months after your surgery.
